$150,000 with re-buy contract to maximize tax efficiency
Dear Mr. Musk,
I herein offer up the right of first refusal on this artwork, “…literally my favorite thing!” By purchasing this work you are helping a working artist and have the opportunity to greatly increase your tax efficiency.
Why should you buy the work?
It is very cool. You can see it features lovable comics character Garfield and hapless fall guy, Jonathan Q. “Jon” Arbuckle in a diptych that mirrors comic panel structure. However, in the great tradition of pop and street art (see definition of cool in art) it takes these lovable, instantly recognizable characters and tweaks them slightly. In this instance, their relationship suggests something never broached in the long-running comic series. This makes it very cool.
It is hilarious. With the combination of the title, “…literally my favorite thing!” along with Jon Arbuckle’s “But teh Gardfeld!” admonishment and Garfield’s (Gardefld’s?) droll plea of “Not meh butt, Jhon, pls.” we have an inkling this subversive version is about the buttsex. With Gardfeld’s speech bubble and its unconventional spelling, we also have a call back to the much loved Dolan Duck “Goofy Pls” meme of the internet’s golden age. Never not funny.
The art work purchase contract (which we will hash out via legal teams, I’m sure) shall include a stipulation wherein I will purchase the work back for $150 U.S. American dollars after one year’s time, or at a time following you so stipulate. Your minimum purchase price of $150,000 ensures you can take a loss against the artwork investment, thus lessening your overall tax burden. I’m even willing to store the artwork for you during your time of ownership.
Please don’t let this opportunity go to waste. You can buy a hilarious, very cool artwork and use it as a hilarious story to tell your friends, troll your enemies, and for economic advantage.
Please contact me soonest.
Yrs,
GAT
